Commercial Construction Superintendent

 Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all on site construction activities of assigned projects from start to finish
  • Effective scheduling and monitoring of all aspects of work from start to completion
  • Effective, respectful, and proactive leadership of subcontractors
  • Active management of safety, quality, and quantity of work
  • Candidate must be proficient in blueprint reading and job scheduling
  • Extensive knowledge of established construction and maintenance practices, procedures and techniques
  • Intermediate office administration and computer skills
  • Problem solving skills in relation to construction projects
  • Strong interpersonal communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Familiarity with a wide range of equipment and tools
  • Hold safety meetings and enforce safety policy
  • Represent company values and policies on and off site

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Strong character (humility, motivation, respect for others, pride in work, etc.)
  • 3-5 years’ experience in commercial, ground up construction
  • Bulk Fuel Storage and Dispensing Systems a plus
  • Strong scheduling, planning and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Must be willing to travel statewide

The Project Manager will provide overall administrative and technical direction on one or more projects. This position may have responsibility for specific aspects of construction (managing document control, pricing proposal requests and tenant upgrades, issuing subcontractor and owner change orders, etc.) for the project.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work independently and exercise discretion in day to day activities
  • Issue RFIs to the Architect and Owner for review and approval; distribute response to all involved parties
  • Process submittals for approval
  • Price proposal requests
  • Works closely with Bidding/Estimating to approve and submit bids; must read and retain plans and specs
  • Issue Subcontractor change orders and Owner change orders
  • Negotiate, award, and draft subcontracts and purchase orders
  • Review and approve Subcontractor invoices
  • Provide updates to Owner on overall project costs as required
  • Review schedule with Superintendent and identify lead times on material deliveries, critical path activities or delays that may impact overall schedule; responsible for managing project durations
  • Update look-ahead schedules provided to Owner weekly
  • Perform monthly schedule updates
  • Share and manage project expectations and budget
  • Embrace and nurture a zero tolerance safety mindset for the team
  • Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

Qualifications & Experience:

  • BS in Construction or equivalent (preferred)
  • At least 3 years of progressive experience/knowledge of commercial construction
  • Must possess high personal standards including a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and a high level of professionalism
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, and standards
  • Must have excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to interpret and translate requirements to all team members including Owners, Subcontractors, and Superintendents
