Suntech’s founding was the launch of the dream of Don and Doug Larson and their father. While their father passed before Suntech opened its doors in May of 1985, his influence lives on in the core values which we hold dear.
In the early days, Suntech survived on hard work and the advice of helpful mentors. There was no sophisticated grand plan, just hustle and a full course load from the school of hard knocks.
As the company grew over the years, we earned the right to serve some really big names in the fast food and convenience store industries. We have built during the booms and weathered the economic downturns. What held us together as a company is the grace of God, great clients, and an outstanding team.
Today we find ourselves with a resume and a history – and a fire in our belly to do more. To build for the best companies in the industry. To provide jobs and an outstanding work environment for our team. And most of all, we are passionate about leaving this world a little better than we found it – one project at a time.
Our Core Values
If you’re a Suntech team member, you can probably name these from memory. (Go ahead and test us.) We want to share with you the core values we hold near and dear to our hearts. We hire, fire, and incentivize our team based on the following:
- Be a team player. Work hard, and work together. Take care of each other.
- Obey the Golden Rule. Always treat others the way you wish to be treated. This is hard, but worth it.
- Demand quality always. Anything worth doing is worth doing well.
- Do the right thing, especially when it costs money. Doing the right thing can be expensive, but there is no price on integrity. We seek to do the right thing regardless of what it costs.
- Work with a servant heart. We are here to make a difference, so we seek to serve people with kindness and passion.
Who We Want to Work For
We make no assumptions that we’re the right fit for you or that you’re the right fit for us. We want to work for companies who, first and foremost, share our core values. If you nodded your head as you read the above core values, that’s a start.
Trust is nearly absent in the commercial construction industry, as contractors have failed time and time again to serve clients with excellence. We are far from perfect, but we aim to change the industry by establishing relationships built on trust. We want to work for companies who are looking for a contractor they can trust to lead them through the imperfect and sometimes frustrating construction process.
The best way to discern whether or not Suntech is a fit to build your project is to do things the old-fashioned way. Let’s grab a cup of coffee and talk about your project. Let’s discuss your goals and preferences. We’re all humans here – not commodities – so let’s get to know each other to see if we might be a fit for one another. By the way, if we’re not a fit, we hope to be as helpful as we can to provide guidance on your project.
